Anchovy lovers and food historians, rejoice! A Twist in the Tail: How the Humble Anchovy Flavoured Western Cuisine by Christopher Beckman has been spotlighted again in a major journal review -the Wall Street Journal this time-, delightfully titled A Twist in the Tail: All Hail the Anchovy.



As Dominic Green notes in this review on the Wall Street Journal, "The Spanish now eat 5.9 pounds of anchovies each annually, but not until the ‘hunger years’ after their Civil War did anchovies move inland to wash up on the counters of tapas bars."
