A new take on an old classic: In the original version, dating back to 1843, the duck was, after all, a swan. So what was he expected to become in the end?

This books challenges the comparison of animals of different species and their labeling as “cute” or “ugly”: In this story, the “ugly duckling” is a duck from beginning to end, and conquers everything with its tenacity, not its appearance. The swan may well be beautiful, but the duck, why should it be less worth?
